Dulcie September

Dulcie had been an activist in South Africa and later became the ANC rep for France, Switzerland and Luxembourg and was stationed in Paris. In March 1988 she was shot dead at close range in her office building by a masked assassin. This image depicts her with her outstretched arm and splayed fingers – an act of resistance and/or protection.
To date, nobody has been charged with her murder.
